Students in grades 4-8 at First Baptist Church
School have the opportunity to enrich their creative thinking and
problem solving skills through the Destination Imagination program.
Destination Imagination is an international creative problem solving
competition for students from Kindergarten through college. Teams of
five to seven children brainstorm possible solutions to open-ended
verbal and technical problems, and develop original solutions.
Participants write plays, music, and songs; make costumes, backdrops,
and props; design and build mechanical devices; and present their
solutions within six to ten minute time periods. Participants learn to
be innovative and creative, and their educations are enhanced far
beyond the classroom through involvement in this program. |
