ADVANCED CURRICULUM
Teachers in all grade levels target higher level thinking skills across
the curriculum. The P.A.C.E. program accommodates the academically
gifted child. These students receive enrichment instruction in problem
solving and independent study. Middle school students are able to
receive high school credit in French I, Spanish I, Algebra I and
Computer Literacy.
DISCOVERY LEARNING LAB In
the elementary classes, students attend Physical Education 5 days per
week, Music, Spanish and Art class two days per week, Library and
Computer Lab once a week each. These enrichment classes are held
outside the classroom by experts in these fields. Middle school
students have a wide variety of electives to choose from in the areas
of technology, language arts, broadcast, athletics and more.
DUKE TALENT SEARCH
FBCS participates in the national search of high achieving students.
Each year approximately one third of our 7th grade students qualify for
this program.
RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION
Our nondenominational Bible curriculum instills Christian morals and
values for everyday living. All students attend chapel on a regular
basis. Middle school and elementary students contribute to their
community through service hours. Many of our students have received
Presidential awards for completing 50, 75 and 100 hours of service
work. Jesus Christ truly lives in the heart of those who teach and
those who learn.
DESTINATION IMAGINATION
Student teams compete in problem solving competitions with
presentations that include team created drama, music, costumes, props,
backdrops, technical elements and spontaneous problem solving.
ATHLETICS
School sponsored basketball teams for both boys and girls are available
for 5th through 8th grade students. Boys are able to play football on a
team comprised of students from area private schools. FBCS has a middle
school golf team. We are also the nucleus for many soccer, baseball and
basketball teams formed through the YMCA or Cabosa for all age groups.
CHEERLEADING/PEP SQUAD
Students in 5th through 8th grade are eligible to join Pep Squad. 7th
and 8th grade students may elect to join cheerleading. Students attend
summer camp, support our athletic programs, and have scheduled rallies
for the entire school.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES In
addition to its athletic program, FBCS has a very active Student
Council, National Junior Honor Society, and Yearbook Staff. Our Student
Council has been recognized and annually receives awards at State
Convention.
PATRIOT PUBLISHING COMPANY
Students in K-5 through 5th grade publish a hardback book with their own creative story.
TECHNOLOGY FBCS
has two state-of-the-art computer labs, and a video production lab, and
SMART Board interactive white-board systems in every classroom. FBCS
also broadcasts live on closed circuit television and radio daily and
has an onsite Technology Coordinator. |
